In 1986, he graduated from the I.S.I.A. in Faenza (Institut Supérieur pour les Industries Artistiques), where he returned to teach industrial design from 1995.In 1990, he opened his own practice in Milan, focusing on product design for the domestic environment: ceramic coverings, table and kitchenware, home technology, carpets and rugs, furniture and lamps. For FontanaArte, he designed the blown-glass A Tomic suspension lamp in 2003 and the Riga wall lamp in 1995, now also available in an outdoor version.
