About this vintage design furniture
Armchair designed by Jaroslav Šmídek. Type 53. Manufactured by TON during the 1960’s. Represents the Brussels style, which formed after the enormous success of chech design during the Expo 58 Brussels World’s Fair in the year 1958. Frame made of bent beechwood. Fully renovated, both wooden and upholstered elements. The shape has been kept in every detail as original.

Jaroslav Smidek is a Czech industrial designer born in 1988 in Prague. He studied at the University of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where he graduated with a degree in industrial design in 2013.
