Splendid trio of decorative vases in green glazed ceramic, all with raw black ceramic lids. Made of Raku ceramics, from the Japanese tradition. The different shapes and sizes of these three vases offset each other, creating a harmonious and balanced set. Includes certificate of authenticity. Comes from the private collection of Roche Bobois. It is signed by French ceramic artist Genevieve Berrin. About the Raku technique Raku comes from a 16th century Japanese style, established by the great masters of the tea ceremony. It reflects Japanese philosophy. This piece has been made entirely by hand, with the greatest care and respect for the different manufacturing stages. Raku involves removing from the oven at a high temperature and then smoking in wood chips for several hours. The cracks are due to thermal shock.
