About this vintage design furniture
Globe ”Word Antique” Reader's Digest, 1980 - Denmark
Splendid globe published by Reader's Digest in the 1980s, popularly known as the World Globe of Ancient Places. The cartographer who designed the format was Karl F. Harig. It represents a political map with an aesthetic that precisely follows the ancient cartography typical of the first discoveries, for this reason the sea has been represented in the color of the ancient parchment, instead of the blue color typical of the ocean. Conquests, battles, chronologies of relevant men, and even some geographical points are also represented physically, since they have relief. Its structure is simple, it is allowed to rotate thanks to the different axes and metal rings, the one closest to the dial with graduation. The base of the globe is made of natural wood and the globe is made of paper mache, it is clear that it has been applied in two parts, two half-moons, whose union is in the middle, demarcating the equator.
Dimensions: 57 x 51 x 49 cm.
Professional custom-made packaging is included in the shipping costs; and personalized shipping, with tracking number and warranty.
