Vintage armchair with ottoman by Torbjørn Afdal for Bruksbo, Norway 1970

This ‘Hunter Lounge Chair’ with its original ottoman, was designed in 1962 by Torbjørn Afdal, and manufactured by the Norwegian company Bruksbo. It is a relaxing chair with a simple aesthetic, using many natural materials. I think this gives the chair a beautiful rudimentary and natural character. As the name suggests, this chair is designed to sit comfortably. And it does, it’s comfortable. The chair presented here was most likely produced in the early 1970s and is in completely original condition. It has acquired a beautiful patina over the years, which shows its age beautifully. The chair is in very good condition with wear corresponding with age and use. The rings in the footstool are unfortunately slightly torn, but are still véry firmly attached to the canvas.
