Vintage renovated chest of drawers, Poland 1970

Prl chest of drawers from the 70s. The lack of a rating sticker makes it impossible to identify the factory and the designer. Very capacious chest of drawers (depth 50 cm) is equipped with 3 high drawers and 2 low ones, and a door behind which there is one shelf. Originally, the piece of furniture was in a mahogany color falling into red and was covered with a thick chemically hardening varnish. We removed the old varnish, colored the veneer with a walnut stain and protected the surface with hard oil - an ecological successor of the varnish, perfectly protecting against moisture, scratches and hot cups. In order for the cabinet not to be a bland piece of furniture from the people's republic of poland, we added black and gold decorations on 2 drawers and half of the door, we also repainted the legs black and installed black metal handles.
