Vintage floating teak lowboard by Rud Thygesen for Hg Furniture, Denmark 1960

Vintage Danish Floating Teak Sideboard by HG Furniture, 1960s. Mid-century Modern Danish modular wall unit composed of two wall mounted cabinets. This system was designed by Danish architects Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen, manufactured by HG Furniture (Hansen and Guldborg) Denmark. The two elements can be placed separately or combined as a sideboard as shown in the photos. Cabinet module with four height adjustable shelves. Inside lined with light Ash veneer. Chest of drawers module with four wide drawers. Both elements with signature "eyelid" pulls in solid teak. Very light visual impression, but ample storage space. Beautiful teak veneer with expressive grain pattern in warm golden brown. Excellent craftsmanship and quality with beautiful dovetail joints. Built to last for generations. Original metal brackets for hidden mounting included. Makers mark on the backing: "HG-FURNITURE", "made in Denmark" and "Danish Furnituremakers Control" stamp. Very good original condition. Light wear including few scratches on top. Patina consistent with age and use. Cleaned and polished, ready for use. Reference : 274579
