Vintage living room set model "Ateljee" by Yrjö Kukkapuro for Haime Finland

Minimalistic sofa designed in the 1960s by the Finnish designer Yrjö Kukkapuro for Haime Finland. The series is called ‘Ateljee’. A series in which most sofas are made as one piece. But this sofa consists of three separate parts, making it possible to transform the three-seater sofa into a two-seater sofa plus an easy chair. Like many great designers, Kukkapuro also took ergonomics seriously, resulting in a sofa from which it is wonderful to look at a freshly finished painting. The sofa is made of birch laminated wood that is fixed on a black metal frame, covered with black leather cushions. It has got some age related wear and tear on the wood with cushions still in very good condition.
