About the designer

Sonia DELAUNAY

Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979) was a Ukrainian-born, naturalized French artist who played an important role in the abstract art movement of the early 20th century. Born in Gradizhsk, Ukraine, she studied art in Germany before moving to Paris in 1906. In 1910, she married the painter Robert Delaunay, with whom she began working on abstract works.
