Mid-century walnut dressing tableYounger dressing table by John Herbert, featuring six drawers, an impressive triple adjustable mirror, and the whole set is made of French walnut.A Younger was a leading manufacturer of contemporary furniture in the late 1950s and 1960s. Their chief designer was the talented John Herbert, about whom little is known outside of his designs for Youngers. A Younger's dressers are often much larger than those of other British and Danish manufacturers. They aimed to sell to wealthy and stylish customers, who owned large homes and probably more socks, knitwear, etc. than the average person at the time.Circa early 1960s. Made in Britain, Danish design. "A Younger" label is on the back of the back of a drawer. A rarely found item in excellent condition.The mirror can be removed for transport.

About the designer
John HERBERT
John Herbert was a British industrial designer, born in 1929 and died in 2007. He studied at the Royal College of Art in London in the 1950s and began his career working for the English furniture manufacturer Ercol.
