About this vintage design furniture
Sonja Wasseur for Wasseur Studio- Amsterdam- Pair of "Grass Hopper "Pair of wide low reclining armchairs with rack and pinion backs in brown-black stained wood and leather and chrome metal tubing. The wooden frame is formed by two inverted V-shaped armrests connected by two horizontal crosspieces maintaining a very wide seat continuing to form a leather backrest, a tubular metal structure allowing to tilt the backrest. A leather band at the back at the level of the loins ensures the comfort of the seat and holds a small rectangular head cushion. The top and bottom of the leather piece as well as the small adjustable head cushion are adorned with an intertwined leather braid pattern.Hinges marked Emelite.Netherlands, circa 1960s 1970s.The head cushions as well as the straps holding them redone.A headband at the back a bit short.Difference in wood color.Dimensions and weightHeight: 68 cm- Width: 85 cm- Depth: 102cmWeight: 25 kg each
