About this vintage design furniture
These Czechoslovak lounge chairs #24-23 were designed by František Jirák for Tatra Nabytok in the former Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. The design of these armchairs followed the huge success of the Czechoslovakian pavilion at Expo 58 in Brussels.The armchairs have original armrests made of bent plywood and the wooden frame is made of beech veneer. Frantisek JIRAK
František Jiránek (1898-1978) was a Czech designer who worked in the 1920s and 1930s. He is best known for his work in furniture design, but also designed objects in glass and ceramics.
