Pair of GE-88 Danish Lounge Chairs by Aage Pedersen for Getama 1960s, Set of 2Pair of modern Danish lounge chairs model GE88 designed by Getama furniture factory owner Aage Pedersen.These chairs are made of solid teak with Epeda spring cushions. Original wool fabric. The GE 88 are stylish, elegant and very comfortable.Getama is a well-known Danish manufacturer of mid-century modern furniture and has long collaborated with the architect Hans J. Wegner. The company still produces Wegner furniture today.The story goes that when Wegner saw these chairs, he demanded that Getama immediately cease production because he thought they were too close to his own designs.The upholstery shows signs of wear and tear and is discolored. The spring pads are in good condition.The wood is cleaned, oiled and polished. Please note that the wood on one chair is darker than the other. Solid construction.

About the designer
Aage PEDERSEN
Aage Pedersen was a Danish designer born in 1906 and died in 1983. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts before beginning his career as an industrial designer in the 1930s. He worked for several Danish companies, including the Danish furniture company Fritz Hansen, where he designed many popular pieces of furniture in the 1950s and 1960s.
