About this vintage design furniture
Designed by František Jirák for Tatra Nabytok, this chair is an emblematic piece of Eastern European design, revealed at the Brussels World Fair in 1958. Similar to the Scandinavian style, the design of its backrest in thermoformed plywood is characterized by an elegant and pronounced curvature and the legs are finely tapered. Note: the seat is covered with its original removable cushions, which has become quite rare, since most models are without them, they are usually reupholstered and diverted from their original spirit. Nb: the furniture of the Sixties in Czechoslovakia being produced only on an international scale adds to their singularity very appreciated by the decoration lovers.
