About this vintage design furniture
This ceramic by Roger Guérin was made in the 1930s in Bouffioulx, Belgium. This beautiful model presents an incised decoration where we find a Maltese Cross surrounded by thistles which symbolize Christ and the Virgin but also the austerity of the Hospitallers of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. The technique used (stoneware salted large fire) is representative of the know-how of the ceramist who never stopped researching and experimenting with new processes throughout his career. Very good condition, no chips or cracks. The object measures 21 cm high and weighs 830 g.
