About this vintage design furniture
Stunning Topolino table lamp designed by Matteo Thun for Bieffeplast in the late 80s. Together with Ettore Sottsass, Thun was one of the co-founders of the Mephis group. This design movement brought shape, form and style throughout the 80s, later on the Italian designer worked as a creative director for Swatch. This Topolino lamp is made out of a sturdy metal base with chrome handles and a thick pressed glass diffuser on both sides. The use of this particular glass makes the light soft but still bright.

Mattheo THUN
Mattheo Thun is an Italian designer born on March 14, 1952 in Bolzano, northern Italy. He graduated from the Florence Academy of Fine Arts in 1973, where he studied architecture with Adolfo Natalini and Ettore Sottsass.
