Vintage glass pendant light by Carl Fagerlund for Orrefors. Sweden, 1960s

The green Hexagon by Carl Fagerlund is the largest pendant light in the "green-series" of minimalistic lights he made for Orrefors glass works in the 1960s. This light projects a good clear light downwards as well as the green decorative shine of the actual shade. Very good condition. Not a single scratch in the glass. Standard E27 light bulb socket. Rewired with a dark brown textile cable to hold this rather heavy lamp. During his time at Orrefors, Carl Fagerlund came to design a large number of lamps, many of which today are regarded as real design classics. He often had the glass combined with brass, creating a perfect symbiosis. Many of his lamps, not least his table lamps in red, blue and green glass, have seen a significant upswing in recent years. The interest in Fagerlund’s lamps is great not only from Swedish customers but also from abroad. Not least interior decorators from the United States are in search of them. In addition to all the lamp models Carl Fagerlund created for Orrefors, he has also created a large amount of interior decoration for public spaces. For example, for Prince Eugene Waldemarsudde, General Motors headquarters in the US, the Swedish embassy in Tokyo, Hotel Mercur in Copenhagen and many more.
