This Butterfly Chair, an iconic design of Dutch designer Gerard van den Berg, was manufactured in 1983 by Montis. It features a black and white metal frame and a white leather seat. The inspiration of the designer came from making a hollow in the sand at the beach.

About the designer
Gerard VAN DER BERG
Gerrit (Gerard) Van Der Berg (1947-2011) was a Dutch designer known for his modern, functional furniture creations. He studied at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts and began his career as an industrial designer at Gispen, a Dutch furniture company.
