About this vintage design furniture
Bauhaus-era desk by Czech designer Rudolf Vichr, produced by Vichr & Co. The Bauhaus movement was born in the aftermath of the Great War in 1919, bringing together a wide range of disciplines, including architecture, design and art as a whole. Walter Gropius founded the movement and defined its principles. This desk features a magnificent, typically Bauhaus, chromed tubular metal frame, a suspended pedestal with 3 drawers and a superb beech top. It is particularly deep, offering a beautiful working space. The desk has been restored and is in excellent condition.
