About this vintage design furniture

Extraordinary Brutalist style and period enfilade, made of solid wood, with a diamond point carved wood front and marquetry top. The author is Gaston Poisson, an important and renowned French cabinetmaker of the 1940s-50s.The furniture is of the highest quality, not only in design but also in the materials used, which perfectly illustrates the craftsmanship and opulence of the Art Deco movement. This sideboard is divided into three sections with doors, and inside the central door is a register or drawer with a circular knob made of ebony. The interior also features nets and inlays in citronella, creating geometric patterns, visible in the profile of the shelf. It also has bronze trimmings and keys, which bear his initials "G.P." as the author's signature. All these elements give the chest of drawers a majestic look, typical of Gaston Poisson's style. With this piece we can clearly appreciate the work of the French school of the 40's (Gaston Poisson, Charles Dudouyt) where the forms are monumentalized to create an exceptional piece of furniture that, although heavy because of solid wood, seems to levitate on its elegant base. The doors, with this design, meet the standards of the most demanding interiors with elegance and boldness. It is in the city of Orleans, France, that we had the opportunity to unearth this marvelous brutalist piece. The structure and the solid oak display cabinets are in very good condition. It is a highly sought after piece in high decoration and interiors.Dimensions: 103 x 208 x 53 cm Reference : 264158
