About this vintage design furniture
Mid-century Murano sommerso diamond-shaped bowl by Flavio Poli for Alessandro Mandruzzato (Murano, Italy, 1960s). Made of thick blue, yellow and clear glass. It is extremely decorative. Perfectly works as a catch-all, vide poche or even as an ashtray. Can be used as a display piece on any table. Height: 6.5 cm; length: 12 cm; width: 12 cm. Excellent vintage condition.
"Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
