About this vintage design furniture
Design Harry Bertoia for Knoll, Model Diamond Longe Chair,1970s
Harry Bertoia for Knoll. Diamond armchair with steel wires that form grids. The upholstery is completely new in the color dark blue. This was done by a very good design upholsterer.
Armchair that forms a seat hole and stands on sled legs.
First edition from 1956 by Knoll. The armchair created by Harry Bertoia who designed them as light sculptures crossing the sky. To arrive at this result of an extreme lightness, he studied space, shapes and steel properties. Made by hand in the beginning, with each wire bent by hand before being welded. First collection with very few copies before Bertoia and Bob Savage from Design & Development created an industrial and serial production.
