Henri Goetz - Orange and blue Circa 1970 original carborundum engraving E.A IXXX Numbered 920 Signed lower right Size paper : W64 x H55 Engraving size : H24 x W35 Carborundum engraving is an engraving technique, invented by the artist Henri Goetz with the help of his friend Eric Schaeffer, an amateur engraver, which consists in gluing very hard polyhedral grains of silicon carbide on the matrix by drawing shapes and combining the size of the grains and the density of their distribution before gluing them.
