About this vintage design furniture
Victorian Ebonised Desk Offering for sale, a late English Victorian ebonised desk, in the manner of E.W. Godwin, circa 1890 comprising of one large drawer with two matching handles and three smaller drawers either side. The desk sits on ornate legs and black china castors with castellated sabots. Edward William Godwin was a progressive English architect-designer, who began his career working in the multicoloured “High Victoria” style of mid-Victorian Britain adopted by John Ruskin particularly the "Anglo-Japanese taste" of the Aesthetic Movement. Dimensions (cm): 74 H x 107 W x 50 D Condition: Good vintage condition with character and natural patina seen. The drawer lock in the central drawer has been removed.
