Mid-Century Organic Sideboard Scandinavian 1960s

This modernist sideboard was made in Norway during the 1960s. The sideboard has been finished in two kinds of woods: not very popular birch and maple. Both types of wood have a unique and noble appearance, as well as a natural smell and durability. The graining and structure create a sophisticate effect. This piece has a pair of sliding doors, finished in a natural, light color and a very intriguing, ring grain. An important element that adds elegance to the sideboard - are metal, geometric handles filled with resin. The furniture has a modernist base with a zoomorphic form. It was covered with natural wax with a satin finish. This piece of furniture is made in the modernist trend, which was born in the 1920s, but it still delights with a combination of minimalism and elegance. Modernist interior designers were guided by the idea that simple lines, natural materials, including wood and metal, as well as open spaces are all that is needed to create an attractive arrangement. They believed that the furniture should be very functional, thanks to which the arranged space would be elegant, spacious and simple, without clutter and unnecessary items.
