About this vintage design furniture
An early modernist dressing table with a vertical mirror and a drum-shaped cabinet. This piece was produced by UP Brno in the 1930s under the artistic direction of Jindrich Halabala. In the purest Bauhaus style, this piece is a perfectly balanced composition of simple interlocking forms. The main mirror is connected to a beech plinth and a walnut cabinet with a hinged door and a rounded white opaxite top. This unit may be over 80 years old, but its design is as elegant and modern today as it was when it was made. The wooden parts of the room have been refurbished and are in perfect original condition. The whole piece has been finished by hand with Shellac and Nitro varnishes in order to obtain a glossier finish. The mirror part has been damaged and therefore replaced by an exact replica.
