About this vintage design furniture
Pair of Scandinavian "The Chair" solid teak armchairs by Hans Wegner. First edition of Johannes Hansen, circa 1960. Seat redone in full grain natural leather in the 80s. A restoration trace on a folder. Designed in 1949, "the chair" became one of the most famous chairs in the world thanks to John Kennedy. Indeed, he suffers from back pain and only feels good in this chair with its exceptional comfort. In 1960, in the middle of the presidential campaign, when he was scheduled to debate at length on television with Richard Nixon, he asked that the debate take place in these seats.
