About this vintage design furniture
This is the Saturn Lounge Chair in "Black on Black". Designed by Finnish designer Yrjo Kukkapuro for Haimi, in the 1970’s. Featuring a nicely patinated black leather seat on a painted black fibre glass base, it also has a swivel function and removable "arms". As a result the chair caters for those who prefer "open ended" lounge chairs too.

About the designer
Yrjö KUKKAPURO
Yrjö Kukkapuro is a Finnish designer born in 1933. He studied at the Helsinki Institute of Industrial Art and began his career working for the Haimi furniture company in 1959. In 1964, he set up his own design studio, Studio Kukkapuro, where he designed functional and innovative furniture that won several international awards.
