Sigurd Ressell is a Norwegian designer who deeply influenced the Scandinavian design. He has left an indelible mark on the history of design.
Ressell designed several armchairs in steel and leather, sofas, chairs and bar (1960). In 1971, he designed the iconic Falcon chair. Manufactured during 30 years by Vatne Möbler, this is a real best-seller! Biography Ressell was born in 1920 in Norway. He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry and he graduated in 1947. For a competition, Sigurd Ressel presented a drawing which was raised by Niels Vodder, a designer who collaborated many times with the famous and talented Finn Juhl. After that, he made a prototype from his drawing. In 1958, Ressel received a reward for the SR 600 chair during the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibitions. Ressell is one the most influential designers from the 20th Century.
