After studying sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Pre began his career working for designers such as Joseph-André Motte and Pierre Guariche. In 1967, he founded his own design studio, where he began creating modern, elegant furniture and lighting.
Over the years, Pre's designs have been featured in exhibitions throughout Europe and the USA, and he has won several awards for his work. His designs have been produced by prestigious brands such as Steiner, Sentou, La Redoute and Habitat.
Today, although retired from professional life, Maurice Pre is considered a pioneer of modern design and continues to inspire many contemporary designers.
