About this vintage design furniture
A large multilayered pendant light created by Kurt Wiborg for Danish company Jeka. It consists of four white powder coated discs in different sizes creating a wide soft light projection down over a table as well as a decorative light effect as the discs lights up the one below. A perforated white metal disc holds the cylinder that houses the light bulb socket. Serves as both ventilation and decoration.
Great condition with very minimal of ware.
Standard E27 light bulb socket.
JEKA Lamps, which was also called Jeka Metaltryk, was started by the designer Kurt Wiborg, who was trained as a metal printer at Georg Jensen's Sølvsmedie from 1954 to 1959, including 4 years at the artisan school of Copenhagen. The start of JEKA (the name inspired by the Jutlandic statement: "Je ka" I can!) Was in a basement room in Nørrebro in Copenhagen in 1965.
