About this vintage design furniture
Featuring a solid Elm top with wonderful grains and splayed, solid beech legs, this versatile piece is ideal as a dining or breakfast table, and with its two folding leaves can be stored away neatly when not in use.
Designed by Lucian Ercolani in the 1950s for Ercol.
The Ercol drop-leaf table from the 1960s is a fine example of mid-century modern design, showcasing the timeless elegance and functionality characteristic of Ercol furniture. Crafted from a harmonious blend of beech and elm, this table contrasts the sturdy, pale beech legs and the richly-grained elm tabletop. The splayed legs not only provide stability but also add a distinctive, airy aesthetic that complements the minimalist design.
This versatile table features a drop-leaf mechanism, allowing the sides to be conveniently folded down when not in use, making it ideal for smaller spaces or versatile dining and workspace needs. When fully extended, the table offers ample surface area, highlighting the stunning natural patterns of the elmwood. The craftsmanship of this piece is evident in the smooth, curved edges and the precise joinery, reflecting Ercol’s commitment to quality and design excellence.
