About this vintage design furniture
The black farmer's chairs with the matching table are in very good condition. The wooden slats show minimal signs of wear. The seats and backs of the chairs are made of black canvas which has been stretched across the wooden slats and has an attractive patina. The chairs consist of 8 slats and 4 corner posts made of solid ash wood which are put together in an ingenious system. The canvas of the seats has been stretched over one another.
The German designer Gerd Lange designed this model in the mid-1960s for the Stuttgart manufacturer Bofinger in a groundbreaking design that was far ahead of later Scandinavian designs. Gerd Lange is one of the outstanding German designers who has worked with top manufacturers and has received several awards for his designs
