About this vintage design furniture
This chair made of bent steel pipe construction, bent plywood seat and backrest. Original design by Mart Stam, designer of the Bauhaus period. This chair was produced in Czechoslovakia where these chairs were manufactured by Kovona company in 1950s. The chair has been completely restored. The steel construction refinished in matt black finish which gives out very elegant look of the chair. the seat and backrest are original, but were refinished with a shiny varnish finish and dark wood stain. Beautifully restored and ready to be used. Great industrial design with comfortable seating thanks to the pipe construction which allows for some spring in the seat. Yet it is strong enough to hold anybody. Great chair! We have three available. Price per chair.
