Vintage Napoleon mantel clock brass mechanism, Germany 1930

A mantel clock called NAPOLEON. Collectors of old clocks gave clocks of this type this characteristic name because the form of the clock casing resembles BIKORN, i.e. the hat worn by Napoleon Bonaparte. Original clock from the interwar period, made by a German manufacturer: HALLER and BENZING UHRENFABRIK SCHWARZWALD- SCHWENNINGEN WURTTEMBERG This historic copy is fully technically functional, the model is very decorative due to its unique form. The clock comes from the ART DECO period, hence it has an original wooden casing, the so-called a clock box with a simple decor without decorations or applications. The modern character is also emphasized by the dial behind glass and original hands. The item was probably designed between 1928 and 1945 and was intended for modern Art Deco interiors and has the manufacturer's signature on the mechanism. Basic technical data: - Functional full-plate brass mechanism with a pendulum - The "clock movement" and "beating" are wound separately - Clock mechanism with a single spiral gong - strikes half and full hours - Everything original, including the casing, mechanism and pendulum - Clock case in very good condition, clean, well-kept and without any trace of the so-called bark beetle. The clock has been technically inspected. We add a key to the clock so that the object you have purchased is not only technically functional, but also ready for use.
