Floris H. FIEDELDIJ

Fiedeldij studied at the Amsterdam Academy of Art and began his career as an advertising graphic designer. He then worked for various design companies in the Netherlands and abroad, before joining Royal Tichelaar Makkum in 1953. For almost 50 years, he worked as a designer for the company, creating numerous designs for ceramics and tiles.

Fiedeldij was known for his modern, abstract designs, inspired by art movements such as De Stijl and Bauhaus. His creations were often characterized by the use of simple geometric shapes and bright colors. He has also worked in other fields, including furniture, exhibition and interior design.

Fiedeldij has won numerous awards during his career, including the prestigious Dutch Design Award in 1996. He has also been recognized for his influence on Dutch design, and was made a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau in 1998.
