Aldo LONDI

Londi worked for the Bitossi Company for a very long time. He created more than a hundred ceramic pieces, such as animals, jugs, vases, candlesticks… His most famous collection is the Rimini Blue line; an extraordinary association of glaze and blue coating, in tribute to the Mediterranean’s colors. Biography Aldo Londi was born in 1911 in Italy, more exactly in Montelupo. He quickly started to be interested in creation; at the age of eleven, he joined a workshop dedicated to ceramic and worked as an apprentice until the begining of the Second World War. After being taken prisoner in South Africa during WW2, he returned to Italy and in 1946 was appointed artistic director at Bitossi, a ceramic workshop, and that for 50 years! Londi is one of the greatest Italian designers.
