Magistretti designed timeless pieces of furniture such as the Carimate chair (1950), the Maralunga sofa (1973) and the Nuvola Rossa shelves (1977) for Cassina. He also drew best sellers for manufacturers such as Kartell, Artemide, O-Luce and B&B Italia. Biography Vico Magistretti was born in Milano in 1920. After he graduated in architecture in 1945, he joined his father’s studio and worked for design and architecture projects. He quickly had the recognition of the professional of design by receiving the Grand Prix during the 8th Triennale in 1948. The first reward of a series: more than forty! He taught in many schools of design worldwide during several conferences: in Milano, New-York, Paris and London. He has the Honorary Fellow title of Royal College of Arts since 1983. He designed many lamps and objects which are exhibited in museum and are also presented during exhibitions.
