Lodovico Acerbis

Passionate by furniture from an early age, he turned his talents to creation of furniture dedicated to storage unit. He has the particularity to be a designer but also a producer. Consequently, his creations are only produced by his own company. As a part of his collaboration with the designer Giotto Stoppino, elegant pieces were born such as the Sheraton (1977) and Hilton (1979) sideboards. Biography Lodovico Acerbis was born in Albino in Italy in 1939. After studies in Business and Economy he joined the familial company specialized in design and manufacturing of pieces of furniture. In 1977, he met a grand Italian designer: Giotto Stoppino. During 15 years, they worked together with the common idea: to design useful storage unit. They both won prizes such as the Compasso d’Oro in Italy and the Silver Award of the Institute of Business Design in New York. After the end of their collaboration, Acerbis continued the research around the capacity of storage unit. Some pieces of furniture by Acerbis are present at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
