About this vintage design furniture
Designed in 1944 by Danish architect Philip Arctanders "Muslingestolen" or Clam chair was first produced by Nordisk Staal & Mobel Central, Denmark. This later version was produced under license by Vik & Blindheim, Norway, c1950s and is slightly larger than the Danish productions. Stained beech legs and arms, seat reupholstered in white sheepskin. Price is for 2 chairs

Philip Arctander (1916-1994) was a Danish designer known for his work in the 1940s and 1950s. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked as an architect before devoting himself to design.
