Maria PARGAY

During the 1960s, Pergay became known for her furniture designs in stainless steel, an unusual material for the time. Her iconic pieces include the "Ring" chair, the "Flying Carpet" table and the "Gerbe" lamp. She also worked on projects for renowned fashion houses such as Hermès and Dior.

In the 1980s, Pergay put her career on hold to concentrate on horse breeding in Normandy. She returned to the world of design in the 1990s, producing new pieces for art galleries and design houses.

Over the course of her career, Pergay has won several awards and distinctions, including the Prix René Gabriel in 1996 and the Prix du Créateur de l'Année at the Salon du Meuble de Paris in 2008. His work is exhibited in museums around the world, including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, MoMA in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
