About this vintage design furniture
Stoneware jug designed by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand in Sweden during the 1940s. Textured glaze in speckled white with slight pink on one side. Hand signed. Second line of production in good condition with minor signs of wear.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
