About this vintage design furniture
This 1407 armchair was designed by Wim Rietveld for Gispen during the 1950s. The back and seat are both made from steel, which has been lacquered. The seat has two armrests in bakelite. This chair was first shown at the 10th Milan Triennale (1954) and was awarded with a gold medal. Is has been re-upholstered with a wonderful green Kvadrat Tonica fabric (wool).
