About this vintage design furniture
Grand Repos lounge chair designed by Jean Prouvé between 1928-1930. Manufactured by Tecta, Germany, 1980-1984. Adjustable lounge chair with steel frame, black leather-upholstered sprung seat and armrests. No longer in production. Jean Prouvé slightly re-designed his Grand Repos chair for German manufacturer Tecta. After his death in 1984, his heirs stopped the reedition.

About the designer
Jean PROUVE
1901 - 1984Jean Prouvé (1901-1984) was a French designer and builder. Born in Nancy, he began working in his father's iron workshop before studying art and design at the École de Nancy. In the 1920s, he began designing metal furniture and founded his own company, Ateliers Jean Prouvé, in 1923.
