About this vintage design furniture

This 415 1401 armchair was designed by Wim Rietveld for Gispen during the 50s. With a straight back it sits on a graphite black painted steel frame. The back and seat are both made from steel, which has been lacquered. Two armrests in bakelite. This chair was first shown at the 10th Milan Triennale (1954) and was awarded with a gold medal. Is has been re-upholstered with Kvadrat Tonica fabric.
