About this vintage design furniture
Tall stoneware floor vase designed by Gunnar Nylund as part of the “Rubus” serie for Rörstrand, Sweden during the 1950s. Stoneware in beige gray and brown mottled matte glaze, nubby surface. Hand signed with initials of ceramist Vase in very good condition with minor wear.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
