Akerblom

Bengt AKERBLOM

After working for design companies in Sweden and the UK, Akerblom set up his own design studio in Stockholm in 1972. He has worked on a wide variety of design projects, including electronic products, furniture and kitchen equipment.

Akerblom is particularly well known for his collaboration with Swedish appliance company Electrolux, for whom he designed several award-winning products, such as the "Aroma" coffee maker, the "Combi" microwave oven and the "Grand Cuisine" induction cooktop. He has also designed products for other major brands, including Volvo, Ikea, Saab and Ericsson.

Throughout his career, Akerblom has received numerous awards for his designs, including the Swedish Industrial Design Award and the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. He was also appointed honorary professor at Lund University.

Today, Bengt Akerblom is considered one of Sweden's most influential designers, and has made a significant contribution to the evolution of modern Scandinavian design.
