Pair of Fritz Hansen "Ax Chairs", designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard Nielsen, Danish Design. The design of the Ax chair is revolutionary. For the first time in Danish history a seat and back made of double curved laminated wood was used in a chair. These chairs feature a beech frame combined with the original green woven fabric. The chairs are marked and in a very good condition.

About the designer
Peter HVIDT & Orla MOLGAARD NIELSEN
Hvidt & Mølgaard Nielsen is a mid-20th-century Danish design duo consisting of Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen. Peter Hvidt was born in Copenhagen in 1916 and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts before working as a designer for various companies. Orla Mølgaard Nielsen was born in Copenhagen in 1907 and also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, before working as an architect and designer.
