Over the course of his career, he collaborated with such major designers as Arflex, Cassina and La Linea. He designed such legendary pieces as the Longobarda lamp (1966), the Luisa folding chairs (1970) and the Mac armchair (1976). These timeless pieces continue to seduce design enthusiasts. Biography Marcello Cuneo was born in Italy in 1933. He studied painting, pottery and architecture. In the 60s, he met Lino Saltini and then Gio Ponti, with whom he worked on numerous architectural projects. In 1971, Cuneo decided to work on his own account, diversifying his projects by designing furniture. In the course of his life, he received several distinctions, including honorable mentions at the Compasso D'oro in 1979 and the A.Palladio and Guten Industrieform awards. His expertise was recognized by design professionals, and in 1974 he was appointed to the jury for the Faenza Prize. His work was featured in many prestigious exhibitions, including Italy: the new Domestic Landscape at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
