Paolo Deganello is a renowned Italian designer. He is one of the leaders of the radical Italian movement.
During the 70s, 80s and the 90s, he designed legendary pieces of furniture including the AEO chair (1973), the Torso chair (1982) for Cassina and the Re and Regina couple of chairs (1991). He worked with the biggest companies such as Vitra, Driade, La Murrina etc. He is famous for the innovative use of materials. Biography Paolo Deganello was born in 1940 in Italy. He is graduated in architecture from the Florence University in 1966. He began his career as a town-planner by working for the city of Calenzano. Then, he founded the Archizoom Associati studio with Gilberto Corretti, Massimo Morozzi and Andrea Branzi. They were the leaders of the radical Italian design. At the end of the group in 1974, he opened his own architectural and design firm. He quickly met with great success; his work has been exhibited in 1972 during the famous “Italy: The New Domestic Landscape” at the MoMa. Some of his creations are presented today at the Vitra Design Museum, the Denver Art Museum and at the Design Museum in London. He taught in many universities: in Florence, in Venise and in Portugal.
